Singing Mountain

Singing Mountain is a permanent public artwork commissioned as a focal point for the new community of Easton Park in Austin, Texas. Set in a native wildflower garden, the pavilion-like artwork rings with the sound of large harmonic chimes played by the movement of colorful “feathers” in the wind. Reflective metallic rods wrap the structure, supported by a hybrid steel and wood structure rising up from a rocky outcropping on the top of the hill. Inside, a communal seating provides a place for anyone to come together together and enjoy skyline views of the city.
